Do I have to do anything to the Bios files?

I'm trying to flash an X2.6. I have the bios file but do I have to do anything to them? Do I just stick the x2_5032_vOld_512k.bin and x2config.ini on a disk along with dummy files or do I have to do something with them?

I only have Mac OS X.

there are hundreds of tutorials on how to flash your chip with a bios. use "www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios" it will tell you everything you need to know. even on how to flash without using a disc with a dummy file. did u search for a solution or did u just post??

I'm searching for a solution.

I think I have to use x2bm to make the bios.bin file from the x2_5032_vOld_512k.bin and x2config.ini files but I'm not sure if that's right.


The http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios tells you how to put the files on the Xbox but not how you make make them. Just how do you get from x2_5032_vOld_512k.bin to bios.bin?

And the disk burning tutorial is of no help because I have a Mac.

unless you want standard partition settings or have a G drive then there's no need to patch the bios

the ini file you can configure yourself and then transfer over to either E or F drive

make sure you flash the correct bios version for your box

you don't need to use X2BM unless you're making and flashing 1mb (or making a 512K) bios which is not recommended or necessary since the X2 5035 is already 512k

Well I got it working.

I had to use a disk because my X2.6 came with an older version of flashbios that didn't do FTP. Not to mention I haven't been able to get FTP working yet.

a little off topic here, but i was wondering if there's a thread strictly talking about x2config.ini ... the readme that came with it said nothing about where it goes and how the xbox reads it. does the latest x2 bios (5035) know to look for it or something?? anyway, I need some direction. I have the program 'x200l' for editing the x2config.ini file, but I don't know what to do after that.
