That didn't work for this game. Two disc game and it didn't seem to like being a Game on Demand file structure. I converted both discs, uploaded them, and they load up to the title screen and state "Games file incomplete. Please reinstall." or something to that effect. There is a way.. ISO2GOD, it will even FTP it right to your xbox.
Indeed it does...the reviews say it all
That really hacks me. I wonder if the R/PLUS is a firmware flash only.It seems Amazon got a bad batch. I ordered my first and it was a AD-5280S-CB-R or ROBOT and the second one was the same. These are NOT PLUS drives as stated in the description. Fortunately, Sony Optiarc was aware of this bad batch back in 2013 according to a forum I read where an actual employee from Sony Optiarc stated so and that it would be fixed. Unfortunately Sony Optiarc has no ties with Sony Inc anymore because Sony has dropped them due to poor market and thus any complaints/problems or the like have to go through the dealer you got your drive from. So basically there is no warranty on the drive unless the dealer specifically states so. So you are left with a 30 day return policy only.
Also, I tried both of these drives in my custom rig with Windows 7 64bit as well as retail rigs with fresh OS's and I had nothing but trouble with these drives. It would take explorer several minutes to read the contents off a disc, occasionally freezing explorer and only a reboot would fix it. ImgBurn did see a DL disc as 8.7gb which means the 5280S-CB-R does support overburn but it seems these drives are faulty or a bad batch.
There is no way to contact this "authorized dealer" on Amazon, no phone number, email or the like so good luck getting any support or warranty information. Above all, I am a computer tech and have never had such difficulties with an optical drive before. And according to the Optiarc website, all their drives use standard MS drivers so there are no drivers to download. It should just be plug and play but it is not.
I have also spotted these on Newegg.com. I am going to return these back to Amazon and order one from there and see if I get a 5280S-CB-PLUS or a 5280S-CB-R. We'll see.
imgburn states the exact same on mine but overburns no problem so something ur doing has to be wrongThe model number on the drive label states -CB, but ImgBurn shows just AD-5280S 1.Z8.
I sent an email to the seller. He showed it as a Plus, so I'll see if he'll exchange it.if you think the drive it as fault then contact the seller/amazon as ive bought over 10 of these,2 for myself and the rest to sell on and ive not had one problem, insert a blank DL and see what free space its showing
Are you using the default settings on ImgBurn? What version are you using?imgburn states the exact same on mine but overburns no problem so something ur doing has to be wrong
Thanks. I'll try uninstalling ImgBurn completely (I've been installing over previous versions for a couple iterations now), install 2.5.8.0 fresh, set options to default, and change the I/O Buffer size to 512. I'll report back shortly...version 2.5.8.0 and only settings ive alterd in imgburn is I/O buffer to 512 mb
If the vendor I ordered from doesn't make good on this drive, I'll order the NewEgg one. I know they'll stand behind their sales.
That only comes into play once you begin the burning process. Until I get a capacity reading of 8.7GB, I'm not even going to bother trying to burn anything.keep in mind it also depends on your PC. How much RAM you have and your HDD seek time.. As well as if and how many programs are open at the same time.. Thus why some people burn in "safe mode."
Excellent response and quite a conclusion. Obviously my drive should be working as it is for you. Is your drive physically labeled -CB-R or -CB-PLUS?This is what i got. nothing extra done..
-CB-R or -CB-PLUS?Ive got the same problem, recieved the same burner from amazon today and theres just 8.5gb of disk space rather then the 8.7gb advertised
I would recommend completely uninstalling ImgBurn, reboot, install the newest ImgBurn (2.5.8.0), set everything to default, insert a blank DVD-DL in your drive, and open ImgBurn. If it displays 8.5GB, try inserted another brand of DVD-DL. I've seen varied success with all kinds of different brands, but Verbatim MTM-001/3 seems to be consistently stable. The label states its CB PLUS
This worked for me, feel a bit of a plum for not trying it myself, thanks thoughI would recommend completely uninstalling ImgBurn, reboot, install the newest ImgBurn (2.5.8.0), set everything to default, insert a blank DVD-DL in your drive, and open ImgBurn.
