Do I have to update to dash 7371 before jtaging.

So I just purchased a xbox with dash 6685 on it. Its a xenon. I already got the Diodes and wires ready but the xbox is not here. I saw someware that before jtaging you need to update the retail dashboard to 7371. Do I have to do this or is it recommended. It just makes me feel really sad for me to just update the blades dash to nxe. If I do Can I just keep a copy of the xbox nand with the pre nxe dash on it. and then update it and use the updated nand to creat the xebuild image.

You are confused, 2.0.7371.0 have always been jtaggable as long as m$ didnt do the update while repairing the console (they sometimes put an unjtaggable cb in the mix).

I think I'm not explaining my self correctly. There was some tutorials that said to update the kernal to 7371 which is still jtagable before actually preforming the jtag Exploit.
