Time for my inner Noob to shine again, but when i first figured out how to backup games i bought a kreon drive online knowing the work was done for me. Now a few years later i've learned alot about flashing an Xbox, but the drive just did what it needed to do.

I actually had to take this out of the computer to get this info, but its a toshiba samsung, dvd-rom drive sh-d163. Say i wanna backup gears 3, will this drive still work? I've been reading about about Benq's and 0800 and i figured its time i figure this all out.

Thanks for the Reply's

to backup your xgd3 games, you will either need a benq or lite-on drive from inside an xbox 360
you will then flash it with the newest 0800 ripping firmware

then you can backup your discs

Ahh... I just posted a thread about this. I have an ms25 drive flashed with ix-samsung-0800.bin file, but I get an error saying this drive can't read XGD3 disc. So there is no way to flash an ms25 to copy the games?

Damn i need to get on here more, I had all this down but after like 4 months of hardly doing anything Xbox mod wise i've started to forget most of it. For some odd reason i was thinking there was a drive that could burn the full xgd3. Wasn't that in development?

I think i have all the info now that i need, but to sum it up... my kreon drive is out of date now, i need a x360 usb pro 2 if i want to use a normal drive, and if all else fails i can use a benq or a liteon from a Xbox to rip them.

An Ihas drive cant read, but burns the full game.
And thanks joe, always count on you to pop up on one of my posts :)

it can be done with the new x360 usb pro 2
Most forums and guides say it only works with stock firmware, but my drives available to me all have 3.0 flashed to them. Does this mean i need to revert to stock before i can use them to rip one of my originals?

Also on a side note, is there a tutorial or PDF that explains all the switches and functions of the USB PRO v2?

A drive can rip with LT+ fw on it only with the usbpro v2. There's a guide on the team-xecuter forums that explain the switches on it.
