Do I need an Emunand?

I'm currently on 6.1 OFW and have SX running on the Sysnand. I'm not planning on updating to 6.2 anytime soon as everything I own runs fine on 6.1 at the moment, but obviously moving forward this will be a requirement.

I'm reading alot of stuff now regarding people setting up Emunand's as well on the same firmware version or higher than their Sysnands. My question is basically do I need to start considering doing this as well moving forward? What are the benefits (and issues) with having Emunand set up?

I apologise as I'm guessing this has been asked before but I've been searching the forums for about an hour and can't find a straight answer.

hmmmm....I'm still umming and ahhing about it. I do know what EmuNAND is for, emulating the SysNAND so as to leave the SysNAND untouched. However, due to all the incompatibilities between blown fuses, sleep modes and the advise to have both Nands on the same OFW (updating SYS officially and EMU via ChoiDujourNX) I'm just wandering why people have EmuNAND set up? Is it literally just an 'optional extra' so to speak and entirely based on preference? I'm never gonna play my Switch online so have no requirement to have a SYSNAND 'untouched' for that reason. Is it just basically a way of preserving the SysNAND on an earlier version of FW in case another hack becomes available in the future that requires a low firmware with a certain blown fuse count?

Cheers...I'll think I'll stick to just the sysNAND for now then...just all this talk of emuNAND on the forums at the moment made me feel like I was 'missing out'.

Very good point rory2005. I think when I eventually move to 6.2 Im gonna finally set up emuNAND and update it to 6.2 via ChoiDujourNX and leave my sysNAND at 6.1. This won't cause any issues with fuse count and sleep mode Im guessing?
