RGH Do I need to go to dash 14719 before J-ruuner

Hi,
I have original xbox on dash 13599.
I plan to RGH using J-runner.
Should I update the xbox to dash 14719 before RGH?
Or does it it even matter?

I also plan to flash my DVD with LT 3.0 later.
According the some guides, I should update to latest dash first (14719 is the latest).

So should I update to 14719 first then RGH and flash?

Do it like jim li said. Do the RGH on the current dash, then update it usung J Runner. Always better to be safe than sorry get your CPu Key first.

As you want to rgh your xbox it doesn't matter when you flash your dvd drive. Updating to latest dashboard on stock firmware and then flashing to lt+3.0 is important for not getting flagged and eventually banned on xbox live.Rgh xbox doesn't work on xbox live(instant ban).
so while soldering your coolrunner flash dvd drive to lt+3.0. ohh and do not update to 14717/14719 dash before you rgh it as it will block rgh ability for you until rgh2.0 is released.

You have clarified exactly what I'm doubting.
So the reason of going back to stock, then updating dash and then flashing to LT3.0 is for non-RGH XBOX not getting banned from LIVE.

I know but in first post it says "original xbox" therefore i believe OP has one of phats and didn't mention anything about slim not to make him/her confused.

Sorry for the confusion. What I meant by "Original" is that it has not been RGH/Flashed before. My XBOX is a SLIM with Trinity and Liteon DG-16D4S.

The one thing you want is a nand dump and obtain your cpu key. Do this before doing any updating. Once you obtain you can use J-runner to update the dash as well.


Never to an official MS update without checking first. I was stupid enough to update to 14719 on my phat and now I have to wait until it can be glitched.

Granted you could update your slim and do the rgh but I wouldn't take the risk - get your dump and cpu key when you can. You can then update your dash from Jrunner. Just listen to what others have told you.

Yes you should get the CPU key first before anything. I have made it a point to get the CPU key on all my 360s even if I am keeping them stock.

As for LT3.0, once you have your RGH set up you can just backup your games as files and play them off a disk if you dont have the space on a HDD. I was able to get skyrim on a DVD-R

But no live
