I have no idea what the XDG3 is and stuff, but basically I have an Xbox that isn't connected to XBLive so if I burned XDG3 games without an iHas would they still work? Or does the iHas drive do something to make them playable?

without the ihas , (after its flashed properly) you wont be getting the full game and will unsafe to use on live

Well, first of all you need a modded console. If your console is not modded with LT Firmware you don't need a burner at all.
You can also decide what type of modding you wanna use on your xbox. If you choose a chip-based mode (glitch or RGH) or an optical drive emulator you don't have to worry about burning games at all.
You said that you don't connect to XBLive. If that's the case I would consider a chip-based mod over a firmware mod.
