FIXED Do i replace laser or pcb board in xbox 360 dvd drive?

The Open Tray error is common on Lite-On drives.

Try pot tweaking the laser and failing that, replace it.

I did the pot tweak fix it worked but when i was playing fifa it said it was unrecognizable. So i stupidly increased the laser power without using a multimeter thingy :facepalm: . Now it wont read anything then don't know what to do. I have ordered 1 laser for £4.60. But its happening with 2 consoles ¬¬. So i want to buy another but i need to know if its the laser or pcb board first.

yeah when tweaking the pot you need to use a multimeter or else it will give the laser to much power and laser burn the cdand burn up the laser. its just the laser not the pcb.

Most likely, but you can't say this for sure. He have to keep that option open, how slight that chance even is...

So i just took a closer look at both of the lasers and they are dark grey but when i look at other working ones they are light blue. Does that mean that the lasers are dead or are they meant to be like that?

sense tweaking the laser worked then the pcb is fine, and about Fifa and the unrecognizable error is it original disc or backup ? if it was a backup make sure the game is not installed on hdd from your backup install it from your original to make sure the game installed 100%
