Do I update Dashboard to R-Jtag?

Hi all

I'm running Dashboard 2.0.13599.0, Do I need to update to the latest dashboard and then carry out the R-Jtag?

i have read to update But the getting confused because only five numbers are show and not a full dashboard sequence number....

Sorry for what maybe a stupid question from a complete noob but I don't want to brick my xbox!!!

yes, if you want to install R-Jtag, u need to update to 2.0.15574.0+, as it is, I would install RGH1, as the dashboard is low enough, and it is a cheaper option.(if you want to install a demon also, R-Jtag is your best bet if not RGH1)/ They label all the dashboard this way, because even the first xbox dash was 2.0...., so the 2.0 part is pointless.

Thanks gavin_darkglide for the advice, I have purchased the R-Jtag and will install a Demon when this is completed and works, Do you know of any guide to add a demon to a R-Jtag? Or is it easy to follow the regular Demon Guide?

just follow the demon guide, only difference is the coolrunner attachment board isnt needed, as there is a ribbon cable connector on the r-jtag chip itself. I will also say that the demon install is not for noobs, and you might want to get a pro to install it. also it is pointless if the console you are using is banned, unless you want freeboot and rgloader(devkit nand). if it isnt banned, go for stock/freeboot(or rgloader, based upon your needs.) also you might as well update to latest dash before install.
