I previously installed an X2 mod and evox dash, and got my xbox playing my backups. No probs. I then got on Xbox online and since signing up, Evox has just disappeared!

All I ever get is the online Microsoft dash, even with the chip on. The chips still working fine, cos my backups still work when its on, but i just cant get Evox.

So does this mean you don't have to install evox in the first place to play backups? Will a X2 modchip, with the correct flashed BIOS do??

you don't need a dash to play dvd backups
you need to have flashed a hacked bios to your chip that will allow you to play dvd backups

You could make an evo-x boot disc to launch evo-x for when you want to use it. The only way you can ftp to your pc in order to make your own back-ups is with a dash like evo-x.

X3 is the best chip out in my opinion. I would much rather use the x3 ftp option to flash than i would andy toher program i have never had a problem with it or heard anyone else have problems with it so i would use that if u are tryong to flash iur xbox and u got a x3

Yes u need a dash to play backup games cause u need new bios so it can be reconized. I would install evox because it is the easiest program to get use to. And also u can use the evox slayer disk and it will install everything u need. Make sure u backup and info u need.

If you want to play backups that you have on disc, then you don't need a dash, if you want to backup games to your harddrive or play them from your harddrive then you need a dash. If this helps, please add to my rep, Thanks. :D
