Does anyone have pictures of a successful POUT fix?

OK, so I inherited a semi-failed kamikaze (reads discs, does not eject) and I attempted to perform the POUT fix. I got the jumper wire right, but I don't get the resistor part. I don't understand the schematics. So my Xbox now ejects, but at a ridiculous speed. Does anyone have a photo of a real-world POUT fix? Or could otherwise help me out?

your resistor is soldered incorrectly, remove it, and solder one side of the resistor to the pad, and the wire to the other side of the resitor, so the current is passing through it, not short circuiting it.

Oh so after the fix the black wire is no longer making contact with the load+ solder pad?

edit: OK I think I know how it's supposed to look. I'll make a mock-up in Photoshop and maybe you can tell me yay or nay. I have no theoretical knowledge of electronics whatsoever. Though I do find it fascinating. :)

Is it something like that?
