ever since i connected the X3 wrong by connecting the Power/Eject lead to the %v socket by mistake the first time i installed the power/eject switch has not worked.
The unit does not respond at all either with the chip connected or as a default build.
However if 5v is applied to the chip at the 5v socket the chip/Xbox boots without problem ?
Due to a process of elimination i have come to the conclusion that it must be a defective Power/Eject PCB as everything else seems to work.
Any help or suggestions would be wonderful as this may not be the cause of the problem

ahhh ... right ...

Yes, a few people seem to have done this .....

If the box boots OK once you've removed the adaptor PCB (The chip will be ON all the time) then it's the eject board. Do you have a 1.6 ver Xbox ? Coz they need the extra 5v at the socket anyway ?

I'm really bot sure - you could remove the sticky panel from the back of the eject board and check for any visual signs of burning. If you CANT see/fix this and are SURE it's that at fault, then buy another PCB - they are available from most places that sell the chips in the first place.
