Does coolrunner work if nand has not been modified?

Hello, I have look around the forums and have been testing my coolrunner waiting for my nandx to arrive. Now I have installed it without the qsb and I am a little confused. The green light flashes once 5 seconds after boot and will never boot. If I put it into prg mode it will boot. Now is this normal or should it be booting into the default nand? Thanks to who reply's, and I have searched I am just not sure.

Another thing. I have triple checked my soldering. I have soldered for along time now so I do not think it is that.

Another edit. I have programmed the coolrunner with LPT. So that is not the problem.

No, what I am trying to do is see if the coolrunner is set to go as soon as I put a new nand into the xbox. I guess you could say i'm doing that, but my question is shouldn't the coolrunner still boot the original nand?

Its fine, it only shows the light because it has been programmed.

Just keep it on PRG until you flash your .ecc image

Yeah but shouldn't it still boot even with stock nand? Sorry if I am sounding like a noob, but doesn't it still boot into stock nand or what? Because it flashes the green light once then just hangs.

Not sure, I haven't tried it before..

A coolrunner is for glitching your board when you switch it to prg basically you are switching it off. You will see the green light blick when on nor but this is no guarantee that you have wires installed correct the only way to tell is to wait until you dump and build your ecc file for your cpu key then build new nand once xell is up[ and running . I see your logic just because the light flashes means coolrunner is doing its job but how long the glitch takes to boot will only be the test when nands are done. P.S Use J Runner to dump and build as well you might as well load that up now and get your software up and running as well .
P.P.S Good luck when you get your nand x . and if it doesn't work first time don't give up .

Thanks, I get what your saying and I did know putting it to prg mode just stopped the power (I put that in so people don't think i just fed up the board). I have another question. I was looking around the forums and can I still get the CPU key with the newest dash on the Trinity?

when you say newest I hope you mean 14699 if you have 14717 or 14719 then you may have to wait a bit longer these latest dashes change the c.b value theres a post for rgh2 this will apply to demon as the cb values are different to current ones for current coolrunner

I have 14719 :/. So is there any ETA on the release of the new way? I have another slim I may be working on soon so I may just ask the guy if I could just switch the consoles then. But how soon will the rgh2 be publicly released? Also I thought that only affected PHATs not slims.

No ETA as of yet.

It only effects Slims that do not have CPU Key first. If you were on RGH and updated and have CPU key you can RGH it again, it is new RGH installs where the ECC cannot be generated... yet.

Should be a few weeks to a month I would imagine.

Ok thanks. I never got the CPU key but o well. I'll just wait. Are the points going to be the same or what? And if it isn't as good as the current installation couldn't I just get the CPU key that way then redo it the better way?
