see title. I taped the D0 in place because i am weary of soldering it. i installed my chip and i get the 2 blue leds, but when i start up it goes to the normal Ms dash, and the front control board shows red. is this a bad solder point or becuase the d0 isnt soldered?

acutally i wasnt even sure how to go about soldering it. im stupid, i mean should i put solder down then put the wire on top and heat it or the other way around. its delicate and im like a bull in a fine glass shop

Be nice, guys, that was a bitch of a solder point. Took me about an hour for just that, then my dog cam in, bumped the table, and loosened the connection. But then I got it. But it was a bitch. A bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch to do (due to the lack of a real point to solder to).

D0 is NOT as hard to solder as people make it out to be. Just tin the wire and use the contact on the bottom of the board. After it's connected, use electrical tape to hold the wire in place so it relieves any strain on the contact point. Even on the older boxes where D0 is in between all those other leads, it's not terribly difficult.

I agree by tining the wire and using the underside of the MB it was easy!
