The Micro USB socket is used when testing the DemoN before installation.

Once the DemoN is installed, the switch MUST be set to "XB" at all times.

From that point on, you use the external module and a Mini USB cable to read/write to the DemoN (the console's NAND should only ever be read and never written to).

thank you but i already know that and did that and it worked perfect that's how i got my original nand dump but once i tried using the rater feature the j-r programmer and cr3pro and i install the programmer drivers and the demon didn't work from that point on... probaly wasnt the drivers but i didnt do anything else to the board to f-it up but whatever im over it just gotta get a new one

You obviously didn't read the installation guide. It tells you to desolder a wire from the DemoN to use RATER. It's all there should you want to read it.
