Does the chip have bios on it out of the box?

Hello All,
What will I have to do pertaining to the bios when I first cut it on? What I mean Is there bios allready installed on it? And if so, Will I have to update them before I use it? And how do I tell which bios to use? Does it depend on what version X-Box I have? Or can I just use the newest version available? My x-box came out in 3-15-2002,So i guess I have a version 1.0. I havnt been able to find out without taking it apart,which I was waiting to do when I got the chip.

All xecuter chips come with legal bios (flashbios) and it's function is just to allow you to flash to hacked or illegal bioses. They have to do that since they can't sell chips with illegal bioses. These illegal bioses can be downloaded from a "special place". Depending on what xecuter chip you will buy, the latest bios is posted on the right upper corner of teamxecuter's homepage. X3/X3CE bios files usually contain bios files for xbox versions 1.0-1.5 and versions 1.6-1.6b and they are named different so you won't confuse between the two (though people do continue to flash wrong bios versions).

You are right about your xbox version. I suspect it's 1.0. If you open it up and see a fan on the gpu, it's definitely 1.0.
