I'm thinking of doing a wire install on my Trinity board. My only concern is that the wires must all be a certain length. I remember that some of the Ps2 chips I'd installed way back were picky about length. Particularly the DMS ones. Does the CR4 XL have this same case? If not then I'll just be using 30 AWG to install to the points and what not. I don't really like using QSB mini boards to install chips even though they sometimes are much simpler.

If it does matter, could someone please get me the lengths in mm to cut the wire to for which point?
Thank you

Re: Wire Length Matter?

Wire lengths don't mater if you are using the wires supplied with the cr4. That been said it looks neater if the are trimmed to fit
I have read mixed reviews on this, the best bet is to cut the wires to length. Wire lengths dont matter as much, but the longer the wire, the more resistance you get on the signal, which could potentially change the reliability of the glitch immensely. That being said, it also looks better if you cut the wires to length.

Re: Wire Length Matter?

Yeah. I used to always do that on my PS2/Xbox chip installs. I don't have the wire kit which came with the console which is why I'm asking about the lengths. If I did I'd just use those but my friend ended up just sending me the chip without anything else attached to it. Haha

I cut mine to be as short as possible but you might want to mess around with wire length to fine tune your boot.

As staffed above length of wire affect the resistance. Longer wire=more resistance=Farther distance the pulse/signal has to travel. And I'm assuming with rgh when ur dealing with perfectly timed signals and pulses u want the to get there right when they are sent. I just cut em short as possible then tune with dips
