will try thanks! if this isnt the case any idea what else it could be? however i think i agree with you, despite the volt meter showing that the contact is good, blah.
well i'm kinda suspecting the LPC rebuild and hoping u do find a bad solder...but not entirely happy.

We have a few more things to try but touch up the solder and get a new DL from xbins of the file.

If it all fails then i would like to try an evox 256K bios and see where that gets us..but thats later don't go there yet

the residue is flux ...not harmfull to the board
Doesnt always look good though.

I would clean it off with a soft toothbrush and lighter fluid..i think rubbing alcohol is good for this too

k man i'll watch this thread post back how your getting on...
remember b careful when touching up the joints...u should only have the iron on the pins for a second to two seconds tops...the solder should melt and flow around the pin and the hole.

I forgot to mention another problem i been having, I cannot shut off my xbox with the power button i have to pull the plug and it turns on when i plug it back in.... however I CAN use both the power and eject during the triple boot to get into the backup bios. Im a try the newly downloaded BIOS right now

Has to be the soldering..check all points again
Especially around the d0 point (make sure its not shorted to the pads either side)

And check you have correctly done the LPC rebuild and not missed any points

be very careful with wic its very easy to damage track and pads...if u remove the iron before the wic the solder sets and as u pull the wic away it rips up the track.

Make sure u remove the wick along with the iron at the same time to avoid this.
only use the wick if you have big blobs of solder ..else just touch up the existing joints with a hot iron and a tiny amount of resin cored solder
