LITEON 0225 Drive no longer spins after flashing LT+ 1.9

I purchased a unlocked PCB and used CK3 lite + 360 usb pro to flash my Liteon 0225 drive. It seemed like everything worked, but now my drive won't spin at all. The laser tries to read the dvd but the disc never spins up. I flashed back to original firmware and that doesn't work either. It does eject and retract normally. I think this is different from the "open tray" problem people are experiencing, since it seems like something is physically wrong with my drive.

Do I need to replace a ribbon cable, laser, PCB, or something along those lines?

I purchased an unlocked PCB. So TX PCB. I don't have the means to solder the original pcb back on to see if it still works (though I guess I could get the equipment necessary).

There would seem to be a spate of these issues turning up with the new jf and fw...I wonder if a mod could maybe take a look with a view to starting a trouble-shooting thread on it to help you guys out a bit? Maybe they already know about this issue, I'm not sure lol

I must admit, so far I have only seen people getting this error when they are using the good old dremel hack lol

So does anyone have any ideas?

I guess I could try to send back the PCB as defective but I'm not sure how accommodating the company I bought it from will be. I got it from http://www.foundmy.com/oscom/index.php but it was a while ago at his point.

Does it seem like the drive itself being damaged its unlikely and its just the PCB? I guess I'd have to solder the old one back on to find out, right?

I soldered the old PCB back on, and it still gives me "Open tray" without spinning up BUT the laser isn't even trying to read it as it did with the unlocked PCB. So what do I need to do? Replace the laser? Buy new ribbon cables? Send it off to someone? There has to be something.

Well I havn't had a no eject problem. Just no spinning. Which I guess has no solution? I don't even care if I have to replace parts or something if I atleast knew which parts to replace.

I had the same issue with Open Tray when I installed the TX PCB and was starting to think that I got a faulty one, and had tried reconnecting the ribbon cables many times to no sucess.
Before giving up and calling it quits that day, I decided to remove it completely and install it all over again ,but again same problem.
Then I decided to take out the White ribbon cable (I think it is the data ribbon) and put it back slowly all the way in, that did the trick. No more Open Tray for me. But it took me 5 hours to get to this point.
You may want to give it a try.

Replace your PCB with a TX one.... they are available for preorder now on xconsoles, get em while they are available. Oh, and I will take the damaged PCB if you are not needing it :p
To be clear, I started with a TX PCB. You're suggesting that it's faulty and I should just buy another one?

Same problem here. MXIC (Did Sputnik hack) Slim. Drive was working fine then after 24hrs no more working, on everything including originals. I ordered a new laser it hasn't gotten here yet. I just don't understand how it was working perfectly fine for a long time then all of a sudden no more.

Was your laser still trying to read the disk but just not actually spinning the disc? Because if not it seems like we aren't having the same problem. I've been tinkering with that ribbon cable to see if I can get anything else to happen, tho.

Since my sh*ts broken anyway, I'm experimenting.

So far I've tried running it w/o:
brown ribbon cable - laser doesn't go, no spin
white ribbon cable - laser goes, no spin
green ribbon cable - laser goes, no spin

Doesn't it seem like the problem is with power supply to whatever physically makes the disc spin? Are any of the wires to the PCB I had to snip responsible for that?
