I know there was a post about this last night, but I did not want to hijack a thread...

I have a LITEON DG-16D2S replacement drive that I would like to flash to LT+ so I don't have to keep taking my drive out of the box to rip for backups. JungleFlasher recognizes my X360USB Pro V2, but not the drive.
I'm not sure what other information would be useful to solve the problem, so feel free to ask if you think you know how to solve.
Thanks

Windows 7 in Test Mode, X360USB Pro V2, LiteOn DG-16D2S (I presume stock).

Literally haven't touched it in an hour or more and clicked refresh and it showed up... Weird.

NEW PROBLEM...

It appears the drive has already been flashed. So I am not sure if it is up to date or not. Maybe XDG3 compatible. Maybe not. So I want to install it in my box and make sure it is on the most up-to-date dash and then add the current LT+ on it. This has two issues.

1) Not sure if the drive is currently pre or post 13141 so I don't know which stock version to flash to. The BOX is post for sure, but the drive? Or does that even matter?
2) Not sure if the Auto-Load feature is working correctly for the version I need. I presume it will so I want to make sure it is accurate because I NEVER use it. I only did it this once to make sure the key was valid. (Got it from the KeyDB) What is the current LT+ firmware for the Phat DG-16D2S?

Thanks again and sorry for my born-again noob.

I dont think the drive firmware matters as when you update your xbox the drive will be updated as well then you flash your drive and the auto load feature in j runner will load the correct flash firmware for the drive, the current LT+ firmware for the DG-16D2S is 3.0 im sure one of the other members will be along to tell you.

oops ment jungle flasher.

J runner has nothing to do with drive firmware jungle flasher is for drive firmware and the dash version is updated on console and not the drive the only reason the dash matters is if its below 13141 then it's a different firmware to the post 13141 firmware . If the dash on the xbox is above 13141 then use the post 13141 orig lite-on .then install to console and update console then flash the drive with lt3 firmware install drive back to console and enjoy

Ok. Next question. I've heard it a few different ways. Can a stock drive rip discs or does it need to be flashed? I'm using XBC. (Probably not the most up to date version; if anyone can point me towards an updated download for it, much appreciated.)

right near the beach :)
with a x360usb pro v2 it does not need to be flashed in order to back up games
If using xbc use the 0800 lite on v3 firmware which is made to rip games
These two posts each give half the story, so I'm bringing them together for clarity.

The V2 can put the drive with stock firmware in 0800 mode. If you are using the V2 as the sata for this drive, do it that way. It works great, but has to be on STOCK firmware for this.

If you are connecting the ripping drive straight to your motherboard or another SATA, flash the drive with the 0800 firmware.

Either way, ensure you are using the latest XBC (425)

Ok, That makes MUCH more sense. Thank you Carpe. Rep added. The version of XBC I have is up-to-date (Surprisingly) so I am set... Hopefully. I'll check in very soon if things don't go as expected.

Well that didn't take long... I have an error when flashing back to stock. I used the KeyDB to retrieve the Dummy files because I don't have the originals. I loaded the Dummy file it gave me, then used the post-13141 for the target, and spoofed the key. When I went to click Lite-On Erase, it told me "The Target f/w in does not appear to match the attached drive! This is based on a comparison of the drive barcode. Please make sure you have done DVDKey32."

bump?

This drive is NOT going into a box, so I don't need it to be XBL safe or anything. I just need it to rip my games to create backups. If someone is sure how to fix this issue or that this is NOT an issue...
Any help is appreciated.
