I'm trying to update a Samsung MS25 to LT+ 2.0. The 360 was bought used and the guy said it had aftermarket cooling installed. I do not know if the drive has been modded or spoofed?

using JF .1.88 beta and the latest tut, i've tried using the probe 3 method to get the drive recognized for flashing.. i get a "device intro failed " message after several seconds of the drive being read by the x360usb. I don't know where to go from here..

I'm using JF .1.88b X360USB (FW .18) CK3 PRO w/ probe III on windows 7 64bit

any suggestions are appreciated

Probe 3 isn't used for the samsung drives. Make sure that the physical drive is actually a samsung by looking at the info on the drive lid. If it really is a samsung, find the correct sata port and make sure the drive is seen. Then click on sammy unlock, jungleflasher will read the info on the drive and put it into vendor mode, leaving you to flash it as normal.

P.S Depending on the firmware present on the dive, you MAY need to power the drive on with tray half open. Can't remember for definately though as it's been a while since I flashed a sammy.

Actually you can successfully make a samsung enter vendor mode using probe 3. Look under badflash section for samsung in the jf tutorial

mcgirks, if you are having trouble w/ jungleflasher to recognize it, you may want to try to dump the fw using dosflash, simple and easy to do and works every time for me.
