Ok so I'm having a few issues with my Xbox 360. I received the Xbox from a friend which had a rodd, I fixed the box. Is had a modded drive in the system and after fixing the rodd I put in a game backup and verified that it was working. But the Xbox hasn't been powered on for a long time so it of course needed updates system and live. I had no problems with the system updates but when it came to the live ones I would get an error 66. So what I did was I had a few drives laying around from when I had a modded and non modded box. I took the drive from the box that was not modded threw it into the Xbox and did the live update which it worked so I shut it down and reinstalled the original drive that came with the system a modded one and now it just plays all games backups or not as a dvd. I know that the drives have keys set in them but you would think that once the originaldrive was installed it would work. So now I'm stuck without a working drive. The drive that came with it was a Samsung ts-h943 m28 and the drive I used to get past the live updates was a hitachi-lg gdr-3120l. I also have a Ben q x800474-006 drive that is flashed that's the drive that I had in my Xbox that I had years ago that I no longer have. So my question is can I get this drive working again or is it better to use one of the other drives and spoof the Xbox. Or have I really screwed my self and have to drop the nand and get the key. Thanks sorry for the long post.

Are you certain that the drive that is in the console now is the original drive for that console?

Have you dumped the key and flashed OFW to it and tested a couple of retail games?

Yes I'm certain because before I put in the drive that wasn't flashed and not the original and did the updates, I could play games no problem. Not no I haven't done anything yet because I only have a laptop I need to get to a computer.
