Drive releases

Hello,
Im just wondering how I can tell which is a philips drive? I know the samsung has a hole at the front bottom right of the drive opening with wires in and the hitachi has the black bit covering the hole, I'm just wondering if the philips is similar to any of the two and when was the philips released? Is it the most recent one?

Also, when were the hitachi v36 and lower released? Just so I know what cases not to void warranty and not.

I know that May is a v59 and August is a v78.

You wont get a philips drive in a retail box.

You may get a benq drive, which tray shots can be found on the made page.

v36 and lower were never released in retail boxes. You will not get one unless you buy a used box and someone has replaced the drive.

Manufacturer date is not a definite way to determine your drive version.
