LITEON DG-16D4S - SLIM Drive stuck in vendor mode

hey,

I recently done a kamikaze hack on my winbond chip. now the drive can get into vendor mode but the drive isn't detected. unfortunately I couldnt extract my dvdkey so I thought I would try after the hack. But the drive is not powering either. wil a Pout fix do the trick? or is my drive bricked? i kamikazed til I can see a small bit of steel (proberly not ideal) but I wasn't getting a response til then. Any help would be appreciated. I have only tried jungleflasher at the moment and have failed so far. I managed to get a fw dump but it was corrupted.

Sorry mate but bandit123 have a point.

It's been repeated frequently that you do not start the kamikaze before you have extracted the DVD key, even the jf warns you not to do it and asks you will you proceed...
As it seems you have a real brick...

In the future, even if you apparently succeed to extract your FW always CHECK the key, save it in your DB or go to save drive key in jf...

The tutorial in jf pdf it's very specific it says to get your keys BEFORE you attempt any unlock method. If you would've get your keys even failing kamikaze wouldn't be a problem since you can get a replacement board and flash it

The OP knos he messed up, now to point in the right direction to get it working again, Like I said b4 read up on the RGh ( jtag to get your key back ) then if nescecary get a replacement pcb and start over.

slimkey gives you the chance to dump your dummy before,you should of even atempted the kamikazi. that the one must thing to do.:rolleyes2:

how was you conectin the drive sata or usbpro.

rgh is your only hope to get your drive key now.

Khm, I haven' mention that because the level of knowledge needed for RGH is a lot higher than for flashing...

Not to mention that the new Xbox slim 4GB is arround $200 (maybe even lower for Christmas discounts)
To do the RGH with bricked PCB he needs (assuming he has one of the CK3 tools):

- replacement PCB ... $69,95
- nandX ... $39,95
- coolrunner ... $19,99
- coolrunner prg cable ... $4,95
and we get the SUM of ... $134,84
+ large possibility that he can't read the key...

My advice, sell the bricked xbox, whait for christmas discounts and buy a new one

I was having such a futile time trying to get the keys I went ahead anyway. so jtag is now my only option? not only a brick but a very expensive brick. thanks crazycastle, thanks for not repeating what every1 else said and giving me some decent advise. im running a ck3 revD. I have a VIA card but I wasnt using it. motherboard has worked fine with my last flashes. I did an 0800 drive and my dg16d2s drive to lt 2.0. So I still have another console. But this has been an expensive exercise.

Sorry, I didn't mean to be a smart ass, just the RGH is not an easy job, and if you sell your bricked console you can buy a new one instead of buying all this tools + the time to learn it.

Finally, RGH option works only if you find use of the tools in the future, and you want to take the challenge of learning JTAG programing...

theres your prob,as slim drives are picky with sata.

what drive was it a 0225.

yes I think I will give it to someone else to do the job and bring it to life. It seems like the modding scene is getting way more difficult. cant wait til i get my Ihas drive so i can burn. after i use my 0800 to rip then after my lt2.0 to play. its crazy.

drive was a 0401 which is the same process as 0225 right? I'm really annoyed that I stuffed this up. Well live and learn I guess.
