hey guys,
my banned 360 with ms25 (ixtreme 1.2b) died on me.
so ive just bought another one (new from shop), but its got a hitachi inside!

is it posibble to just swap the hitachi for my old flashed ms25?
and the hard drives too?

or will i have issues and still be banned?

thanks for any help guys!

PS- the new one hasnt been powered up yet.
my main concern is that the samsung is so easy to flash but the hitachi sounds really hard to do, so id rather stick to samsung. :D

At the very least you'd have to open the new 360 with the Hitachi and dump it's firmware to get the key which would need to be patched into the Samsung firmware. But once you've gone as far as dumping a Hitachi it only takes another minute or so to flash it so you might as well just flash it IMO.

i see your point, and i may end up doing that, but ive noticed that firmwares are always released for the sammy first.

do i need to flash the key to the samsung each time or just the first time?

thanks!

Just the first time. Once you've got the new key in the Samsung firmware and spoofed to the correct Hitachi version the hard part is done. From that point on you could upgrade the firmware on it the same as you would any other Samsung drive. Textbook's new tutorial covers several different ways to upgrade, it doesn't matter which one you choose.

thanks for the reply matey!

much appreciated. ill have to think it over, and review my options.

ps- what are the advantages of:
A-spoofing the drive?
B-a hitachi over an ms25?

thanks again!
