Dual Layer not coming up/not reading......

Ok, Forgive me and bear with.

I am VERY new to all of this? And learning as I go.

So forgive me if this is on the forum already. (I have been searching and been looking since I have joined, But I cant find it.)

Ok, Here is my problem.

I am wanting to try doing 360 backups. (On my own stuff, Just to figure it all out at first.)

According to HP...My drive should be able to load DVD+R DL discs.

Here is my PC...

But when I load in the disc? It does not come up. I could not find any Verbatim at the time? So I bought these from Radio Shack...

So I do assume this either has some sort of firmware issue, Something wrong with the driver in my drive, Or maybe I just need to upgrade to Vista?

Now, If this is indeed a drive issue and I cant play play this format? I don't have much money right now with 2 birthdays coming up and Xmas around the corner. Should I charge this drive? It seems to the the popular one these days...

i still dont know what you asking.
that drive wont load a 360 game.it takes a sh-d162c pc dvd drive.the drive may burn the iso once you have one.

Ok, So even if it did load a dual layer DVD disc so I could burn that, It still would not work with my 360?

What I am asking? I cant even start burning games from my PC!

My drive will not load DVD+R DL discs. It acts as if the DVD is not even in the drive. The drive works awesome with everything else. (Lightscribe, DVD-R, CD's, Etc.) In fact, I just burned a DVD data disc just awhile ago.

And my other question, If it is this problem with my current PC? Is this drive the best one to get and fix with my current problem. I can install it myself.

It seems to be the most popular one....

Oh, I did try to load in a 360 game? It seems to pick it up at least.

Cause I did make a backup of my Stranglehold game. (Using Clone CD) But if what you are saying is true. May not work anyways.

For some strange reason. I just wont load blank dual layers.
