i dont have the original dummy.bin file only the dvd key in text. im trying to flash to a new PCB but keep getting Authorisation Failed! Restore Verify Failed. im guessing this is only because i put the key in spoofing. the PCB is 0225.

can anyone build me a 0225 dummy with the key in please?

you never could spoof slim fw

because they have a key area, not a key

the fcrt.bin does a checksum on the slim fw in realtime

you fail that checksum, the drive doesn't play games

you can't recreate the bytes in the fw necessary, even though we have the fcrt.bin
ergo, no dummy.bin/lite-ofw.bin = no retail-side games

Ok thank you for explaining it. I knew we could on phats but I never understood why the same couldn't be done on slim drives. So pretty much they made it so we couldn't repair it ourselves if the PCB died so we'd have to send to them to get fixed. That figures MS would that.

i'm sure it was more of an anti-modding device than anything else

still, i'm confused as to why you didn't read up on this in the countless other threads there are on the same issue?

i would have thought it was common knowledge by now
