There's a huge amount of DuoX2 CLONES around and most wont take the awesome X2 5035 BIOS. Genuine DuoX2 chips work great with both pre 1.6 and 1.6 X2 5035 bios.
I would recommend you firstly switch to the second bios bank with the small switch on the chip and see what that gives you when you boot the console.
One of two things will hopefully happen.....
1... If the second bios bank shows a Linux based Flash bios screen when you boot, use a BIOS CD or http to reflash the second bank on the chip.
If you cant be sure your bios cd is good (ie. have used it successfully on another chip), make another one exactly as per the TEAM XECUTER tutorials. Once this is successful, recover the second bios bank immediately. After all, what good is a backup bios bank with a corrupt bios on it ;-)
2... If the console frags (flashes red and green at the eject button) it's probably got an M8 or M8+ bios (PRE 1.6) on the 2nd bank.
I would then fit the chip to a pre 1.6 xbox and recover by booting with the still good bios. Now launch your flash software (use Evoxdash with a 1.6 compatible BIOS in the BIOS folder of the Evox directory). When you've done all this and are ready to press the green button to flash the chip, switch to the corrupt bios bank and go through with the bios flash.
DONT RE-FLASH THE WORKING BIOS BANK UNTIL YOU HAVE FIRST RECOVERED THE CORRUPT BIOS BANK WITH A SUCCESSFUL BIOS FLASH.
The only way to test the flash will be to put the chip back into a 1.6xbox and use the bios you just loaded.
