Hello!

I have a LiteOn drive 7 series, which has been turned into 25 after updating to newest dashboard.

I flashed this drive several times, but today wasn't my lucky day, I ran the JF v. 0.1.89 , did the "LiteOn erase" successfully, started to write the LT+ 2.0 FW, it wrote the FW till bank #3 then stopped, after 15 seconds the JF tool froze.

I closed the tool then started it again, to perform the process again, no luck. My drive won't turn to vendor mode when I hit the "Erase LiteOn", it just stays on status 0x80, then gives the message "Device Intro failed",I tried the "Intro/Device" button, the same result, "Device Intro failed"

During the power-cycle of the drive, I can see that the status changes from 0x80 to 0x7Fwhen the drive is off.

I even tried in the DOS mode the l-o-eras and dosflash commands, it is not recognized. Always status 0x800 when trying to erase, or not recognized when trying to flash.

I changed the SATA ports several times, I disconnected my other DVD drives to avoid any conflicts, but no success.

My question now : Is my drive dead and can't be flashed anymore since the flashing process stopped in the middle ? Or does buying "X360USB" and using it on this drive will fix the problem without a doubt ?

Thanks for any comment or help!

Not sure if this is the proper procedure or not. I take no responsibility for my recommendations.

This has happened to me before. All I did was close JF and reopen it, load the source and target as normal, "then hit Lite-On erase", and proceed from there. My drive responded normally in JF by just re-erasing it. What you've already tried sounds similar but it worked for me. Hope this helps.

Thanks honda4eternity for your reply, but I wish it was that easy, because I did that like 10s of times.

The drive looks like dead, all it gives the status 0x800 when it is ON. either on DOS mode or JF.

Will the "X360USBPro" fix this ? Does anyone know if that new tool fix that problem 100% so I then buy it ?

By the way I use "Xecuter CK3 Pro" to connect my drive and do the flash.

it's not 100% but the x360USB will save any issues with SATA problems.....
have a read through page 201 in the JF Tutorial, which can be found in the documentation folder of JF.......see if that helps
