dvd burner purchasing dilema

Hey guys, i have a quick question. I want to get a new burner and have been having a hard time finding the PIONEER 11D in the net or anywhere around here. But,i can find the PIONEER DVR-710 which is the better version of the PIONEER111D (and is also on the list of burners working for hitachi's.

Then there is the SONY DRU-800A which is also on the list of burners that will work for the hitachi. I was wondering which one is the best 1 to use to have less coasters.
Also, There is a SONY DRU-840 or 860 burner i see too.. Will that one be acceptable as well for hitachi backups?

Im tired of coaster burning.Might even make my own UFO movie with all the coaster i have..lol.Thanx in advance

i picked up a sony from best buy $89.00usd (i think) works great with img burn

Oh cool, i saw a sony burner at compusa (which is like on the other side of the world in nyc), well it was a version DRU 850 or 860 and was hessitant to buy it casue it wasnt on the list of acceptables for hitachi drives, so i calmed my desperation of buying it and went online looking for a drive.

Every1 keeps saying the 111d/ dvr-710 are great for hitachi drives, every1 kept saying but i like sony products and was just wondering which is better since i have a NEC3500AG which is GARBAGE!

I ordered the sony 800a online just a few mins ago as you have good results with it ,do u have a hitachi?. Is there an updated list with drives which are working for hitachi's?Anyways, thanx alot for your input on this

im not sure what your asking. i use a sony burner for all my backup.i have 3 v28 and 2 v46,v59 and 2 v78.
all my backups do good.
i burn with imgburn.
dump with xbc v2.5

I was just wondering what is the best burner for hitachi drives being as they are SOOOO picky with the burner and media you use ( you should know having almost all the hitachi versions.

I purchased both the sony 800A and the Pioneer DVR-710 which is just the 111D because thats what i have in the box it came with (maybe just a retail version of 111d). Sweet im glad the sony works well, now all thats left is to backup my games and ill be happy.. thanks again for the info cofree
