Hi

I have a ''Sony AW-G170A10 Dual Layer Black 18x DVD +/-RW 12X RAM oem''

Would this be OK for making backups? If so, which would be the best media to use?

And would this be suitable for both Samsung and Hitachi drives?

Go with verbatim for media.

And aslong as its a dual layer burner and you can set the booktype. You should be good to go.

Another quick question, does anybody know what the most common drive (samsung/hitachi) in UK units?

They have tested it with Verbatim media and it says it supports booksetting for ''DVD+R DL'' is that ok?
