LITEON 9504 DVD Drive unlocked board

Hey,

I have a Slim xbox which had 9504 firmware, a while back I updated the dashboard with the firmware 0272, its been a while since ive used it, but I had a look on the TX homepage and saw the "Xecuter Liteon DG-16D4S Unlocked PCB updated to version 1.1" link, if i purchase this, will I be able to mod the drive?

I apologize if this is a silly question, I haven't been on TX for awhile.

Yes, you can use the new PCB in your drive. Is your current board with stock firmware then?

Awesome thanks for the response, nah it has 0272, also Im thinking of purchasing the USB Pro, will it make the process easier?

Yes it will. You will be able to dump your stock drive and flash your replacement PCB without having to worry about VIA compatibility issues.

I would say yes you need it, people have had problems using via or anything else

sorry i didnt mention it, but is the unlocked PCB board future proof, I reckon ill order the two in the next few days and Im wondering will it last?

If you are already going to buy the board no real reason you shouldn't try these kamikaze hack first just make sure you get your key first and take your time oh also it can be done on a winbound or mxic

Hey it looks a bit complicated for me, I'm no good with the soldering iron, so I reckon it's safer for me to purchase the two.
