Hey all, I recently got my new console from M$ after I send in my old for RRoD, anyway I just wanted to flash it in order for me to be able to play my backups again, lets get to the point:

When I click Phat Key I should place my probe on the point, then click next, etc.. But now this strange thing happend: it extracted the key without me having to do the probe thingy, is it because I used the X360USB Pro? As this is my first time using it on a PHAT console..

I just want to know if my key is correct and I dont end up with issues..

I've read about a few drives doing this.

As long as the drive key you have shows as verified (thanks c4eva!), you should be fine, but if you have any doubt, write a firmware to another Lite-On drive (containing your drive key) and test.

However, JungleFlasher key verification routines are similar (if not exact) to those that M$ perform if I understand correctly so your drive key should be correct.

Those are security measures put in place to ensure you don't erase the drive without having the drive key.

If you have any doubt at all, test another Lite-On drive with the obtained drive key like I suggested in my previous post.

I can safely say that the drive key you were given is 99% legitimate (assuming you got the thanks c4eva! verification message in the log at the bottom).

Thanks, I tried it anyway, as I googled around and found out that this happens at drives that werent originally in the xbox, this could be due to I got a replacement from M$ :)

J-F verifies the key when it retrieves it, so if it doesn't match you'd know about it.

For added clarification, right click on the source / destination firmware box and click 'verify key'.
