you will need equipment to read and write the nand (like nand-x or jr-programmer), as well as a glitch chip (like a coolrunner, cr4 or whatever model). the chip allows you to run homebrew programs. basically you write a little program to the nand that boots up and tells you your cpu and dvd keys. then you can write the nand back the way it was and remove the chip. there is no way to read the dvd key from the drive itself without doing the RGH with the chip, from my understanding. older dvd drives you could, but not that new hitachi, unless there was some method i didn't hear about.

well i am looking to get tx products to get the dvd key. don't need homebrew...just the key. can anyone be more specific? what is the best and easiest option for now in late 2015? most of the posts i'm seeing are like years old.

you need a nand reader / writer - jr programmer or a 4gb type nand reader depending onyour mobo
you need a glitch chip - i have a new unused dgx/rgx you could have for £10

once you have the keys you save them as a txt file then install the wa5abi

This is TX forum, no support for other brands
i only referenced TX products... ?

EDIT: oh sorry, you mean the ODE... yeah i don't know much about that. but dvd key retrieval is the same regardless of purpose.

you do need "homebrew" technically. the program used to read the cpu key and dvd key are not written by microsoft, so the code is not signed with the MS key to make it run on stock consoles. you need RGH to run unsigned code. i just told you what you need. jrp and cr4. read guides for cr4 before buying to see if you need any adapters for your motherboard.

EDIT: right i forgot you'd need a different reader if you have the 4 GB nand.

4gb with DL10N is trinity, isn't it? If so he needs jrp.
But I am not 100% sure.

First of all, find out what motherboard you have and then order proper tool

if you feel like our help wasn't enough, you probably should have someone do it for you like GameOver said. no one is going to write out the exact process step-by-step. we've already told you multiple times what you need to do.

RESEARCH or send it out. Nobody is gonna spoon feed you when all the info is out there, check the links in my signature.
So what's the point of this NOOB board or even this whole website? Like what I said its 2015, i'm only seeing posts from years ago. So are you saying nothing's changed since let's say 2013? You don't have an opinion on what's the best when I'm seeing many options from other people (from years ago)? I am not going to have this done for me, I can solder. Just need the right components. You guys weren't sure what i needed so I just gave my mobo info. LIke what I said I'm a noob and i'm in a NOOB board. So any specific brand and versions of parts would be very helpful. Again, i just want to get the dvd key. YOu guys are talking about homebrew and extra stuff that i don't need to have. I did my research bro.

Like GAME OVER said, read all the stuff on this first. If you have ever tried to do any of it and had success, it will be no problem. If you have never tried to solder the tiny spots on a board now is not the time to learn. All the videos on Y***ube, and elsewhere look like it is really easy, which it is if you have been doing it for years. NOOB is not the time to learn, it is the time to research, find solutions, practice on junk, then after your attempts have failed, find the right person who can help.

it doesn't matter what year the posts you are seeing are from. we answered you currently in Nov 2015 and told you what to get:

"you will need equipment to read and write the nand (like nand-x or jr-programmer), as well as a glitch chip (like a coolrunner, cr4 or whatever model)."

"you need a nand reader / writer - jr programmer or a 4gb type nand reader depending onyour mobo
you need a glitch chip - i have a new unused dgx/rgx you could have for £10"

"you do need "homebrew" technically. the program used to read the cpu key and dvd key are not written by microsoft, so the code is not signed with the MS key to make it run on stock consoles. you need RGH to run unsigned code. i just told you what you need. jrp and cr4. read guides for cr4 before buying to see if you need any adapters for your motherboard.

so there you go, you won't have to scroll back up and read what we already wrote, i wrote it again. i maintain that we have answered you sufficiently. no one is talking about "extra stuff", only what you NEED to have. the noob board is for getting you pointed in the right direction, not a full training course.

what's the best? this is a TX site, so we are going to suggest you TX products. JRP & CR4 are the newest. if you have a 4GB nand you will need the SD card reader kit. that's it! there's no opinion on what's the best coolrunner. if you researched you'd know that though.

you can double check your motherboard type here: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/thre...l-Corona-Motherboard-Identification-Solutions

if you don't have post_out you will need the postfix adapter.
