Hi everyone.

I am looking forward to put the new LT2.0 firmware on my Xbox with he benq

The problem is that I am not able to load the DVD key into the drive...
I read the Xbox firmware
I take away the actual firmware (LT2.0 with the key that it seems is able to read!)
I take my old stock original xbox.bin to retrieve the DVD key substituting the rode firmware
I load the new target firmware (same LT2.0 as before but directly from the file) and spoof the keys.
Both the keys are the same
I write
everything seems to be good
but JF actually says DVD key not found, also If i retry to read the Fw from the X
And the message is true because attached to the TV the xbox is only able to read dvd video---

Drive is Benq..

Thanks guys,

I don't know the dashboard version.. it was the latest necessary that was included with the last need for speed (sorry not to remember).

The Xbox got already the LT2.0 loaded because it comes from the "first try".
Previous (and working) installed firmware was 1.9, then I tryed to put this LT2.0 and, only after, I realized that from the 1.9 to the 2.0 the dvd key was not exported.

What you see from my log is that I am trying to take away the CD key (spoof) from the original firmware, adding it to the 2.0 before writing.

load your dummy.bin with your key in it as source in the firmware tool 32 tab - then load the LT2.0 for the 044 series BenQ drive - hit spoof source to target - ensure the keys match......
then in the mtk32 tab - hit BenQ unlock - and write your firmware to the drive

Do you think the problem is that I am trying to use the original firmware directly instead of the "dummy.bin" as the dvd key source?

How to create this dummy.bin exactly?

thanks!

when I say dummy - I mean the file sved when u read in your key originally from the drive. I just call them that for ease

If you haven't saved your key anywhere - load up stock firmware as source - load the LT2.0 as target - and hit manual spoofing - then type in your key and click check - this will fire your key into the LT2.0 fw - then write it to the drive

BENQ_OFW.bin is the name of the file that JF save when it reads the banks, but it contained FFFFFFFFFFFF as the dvd key.

The problem is that I did exactly what is proposed by diaboliq20... and no DVD KEY is found when I re-read the brand new written firmware

Sounds like you have saved a blank OFW over the top of the original saved OFW....doh!!!

Can you open JF and in the 'FirmwareTool 32' tab press 'Open KeyDB'.....

You should be able to find your key in there....so long as you haven't done lots :(

Thanks everyone,

the "funny" thing, in my ignorance, is that I have3 things:

1) stock firmware
2) 1.5 firmware saved before the 1.9 on my hd
3) the 2.0 firmware

What I have done is spoofing the dvd key in the 2.0 firmware, now they have an exadecimal indentical key (as you can see in the log).

The "super-funny" thing is that the 1.5 firmware have a different hexadecimal key...

question: is the hexadecimal key my key or is something else??

thanks!

Ok, step back (also reading personally my last post i don't understand anything, sorry :) )

I have 3 firmware:
-stock
-LT 1.5
-LT 2.0

LT 1.5 and STOCK got 2 different hexadecimal keys.

What can I do exactly to load and write the 2.0LT firmware with the right KEY?
thanks!

OK so:
1) write the original stock firmware on the xbox without spoofing anything from any firmware
2) Power ON the xbox and update the dashboard through the Television
3) Reconnect Xbox to JF,read the firmware from the xbox (now stock) and save the ridden firmware
4) Let JF auto-load LT2.0 firmware from JF directory, auto-spoof key from stock firmware last saved (ridden from the xbox through JF) and the write

correct?
thanks!

Acc.. sorry don't sure to get the point..

"load the fw you have with your drive key into source"
Wich one? the stock one, the LT 1.5 (different hexadeciaml key than stock one), or the LT2.0 with the key that I spoofed from stock one? (originally it was FFFFF)

"then load the stock fw for your drive into target"
.. but in this way I will load the stock in the Xbox, and noth the LT2.0, correct?
Is it only the first step?

Please be detailed, I am a super noob :(

ok the firmware that has got your drive key is the one you load into source.

then you load the stock firmware for your drive into target.

then you click on the spoof source to target tab.

got it so far:rolleyes2:
