DVD movie playback

just wondering if the MS DVD player is needed to play movies even with the mod chip installed. I tried a movie with evox but it didnt go.

just curious, couldnt find anything in "search"

Get DVDX at the usual places. Will play without the dongle. Also XBMC will play the VOBs.

with dvdx how do i copy it to my hdd? i got it and its an iso so does that mean i have to burn it to disc then copy it or is there away i can open it then ftp?

Well one easy way is with Quix (look on Avalaunch's Website). If you're running the avalaunch dash, they make it so you can FTP any iso in a fraction of the time.
