DVD (movie) playback?

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought that putting in a mod chip would enable DVD (movie) playback with out that remote control M$ sells. Is there an option for this?

anyone know where to get game updates from?
Did get some from xbuc.24.tl/? but just get this message when i try and go on there.

the site is no more I think.
Also no luck on any other sites seems like we will need to find someone else to make another site that will be only for title updates but till that day seems like were stuck with no fixes
