Hi all got a 360 off fleabay the other day. Well it arrived today opened it up to flash saw had xclamps removed n cheep fix done but it was working. I then installed coolrunner soldered wires for nand read and flash a ok first time it all booted up, turned it off put case n that back on go to turn it on and get e74 took case off looks like the yellow wire got squashed a lil but it was intact. So my question was it due to the rgh or the Xbox getting e74 again. Have been told by seller that it had got trod before.

E74 is a hardware problem, you will likely need to get the GPU (and maybe even the CPU) reballed.

I think this is just down to bad luck, is there no way you could contact the seller and get a refund for a faulty product or did you buy it as seen?

They said 30 days but I've installed coolrunner into it although it was already flashed when I got it and he didn't advertise that suggestions? Take out coolrunner and send back or get it reballed. (would a reflow not do?)

Might have broken an already weak solder ball(s) when you took the board out. The boards flex a little bit on removal from metal case.
A re-ball is the best way to go on the e74.

I had a similar situation. Im guessin when i was running xell-reloaded the gpu heated up like crazy and when i went to boot up the dash (Last freaking step!) E74!

I just wrapped everything in foil and stuck it in the oven. took it out a couple hours ago and it glitched into a dash. ONLY REASON i used the oven method was i sold my aoyoe 968 and i just shipped it out 2 days ago. Perfect timing huh?
i cant complain, it works. I got FSD running fans at full speed and its temp is decent...for now. Gunna play a game on it later and see how that turns out

E74, according to other sources, is caused through the BGA connections under the eDRAM die on the GPU itself. Reballing won't help and the only 'good' fix is to replace the GPU.
