Ok so my Jtag gave me E79 awhile back after a bad nand flash. I just got the 360nandflasher and undid everthing and soldered in the Quick solder boards. I then reflashed my OG nand and got her to boot up to regular dash no problem.
Now I tried to install Xell and everytime I get E79. I've checked my soldering many of times and even stuck some wire in the pin holes and folded them over and solder them to the quick solder boards just to ensure a solid connection. I've tried the Aud clamp method and the aud clamp with dvd tray. Everytime I get E79. Tried skipping xell and just doing freeboot and still E79. I'm using Jtag tool by coolshrimp.

Any suggestions. I'm affriad to just keep trying as I dont want to end up white screened from flashing to much.

Which diodes are you using?

Do you have some extra 1N4148 or BAT41 diodes? Because I think that one of the diodes doesn't seems to be working, which in turn is stopping the Jtag circuit from working.

Also, post some pictures of the Jtag QSBs and wire installation, so that if there is any problem with them, that could be fixed too.

I would post pics of install but my camera just can not get a clear picture. I have tried all different methods of soldering and have tried different diodes. This unit was done professionally at one point so I even put everything back the way it was when I got it and still no dice.

So whats happened between you getting the console back and now ? Is there a reason why you're messing with the work undertaken instead of contacting the person who did it for you? Maybe you should be asking him these questions.

I did a bad nand flash and gave it error E79. He charges $65 to fix it and I got the same tool he uses for $35 seemed like a better deal. I have tried to contact him many of times and of course no responce. When I got it from him he had it set up Aud clamp dvd tray.
the first E79 came in when I tried to update to the new dash via thumb stick. As it turned out he didnt have xellous installed on it just xell. So when I stuck in the thumb drive and booted xell it didnt go threw the usuall process to update meaning no promps. when I shut it down and fired back up it went 79.
I'm trying to get some pics on here but for somereason my camera software is missing on my computer so now I'm fighting with that! The pics I got of install arent all that clear as my camera is cheap and about 3 years old. It doesnt like to focus on suck small things.

Try the maxro zoom option - all cameras in the last 10 years have this (usually a picture of a flower). Have plenty of light in the room and don't get too close to the subject.

Take into consideration that i have tried many different methods of soldering this stuff on. This is just how I have it right now. I'm not so sure that these quick solder boards are the greatest but I was told by the guy I got my tool that they work. Here are some photos.

Ofcourse you'd get E79 with your current Jtag configuration because your Jtag connection is with AUD_CLAMP & ARGON_DATA, not AUD_CLAMP & OPEN_TRAY.

What you should do now, is to get Jtag Tool, and write XeLL with Alternate SMC configuration, but only for AUD_CLAMP, not for both AUD_CLAMP & ARGON_DATA. Do that, and see if it works then.

Well as it stands I have it flashed back to the OG nand. Just fired it up and it boots to the regular dash board. I've done this a few times now but it should be ready to have xell flashed on. I'm not doing it at the moment as I' starting to feel a little insane with it. As Albert Einstein defins
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Try what I mentioned in my last post, and see if it works.
