E79 after Xell

So, you've now changed the Jtag wires to OPEN_TRAY & AUD_CLAMP. Did you try to write XELL using Jtag Tool with this SMC configuration option selected?

Correct me if I'm wrong but beings as I allready have the cpu and dvd keys on the disk that came with my jtag to begin with I really wouldnt even need to write xell to the nand right. I should be able to just write the freeboot to it.

I got it! It wasnt my soldering it was the Jtag tool. Still is really. I managed to right my modded nand back to it and got it to boot to 12611. But still everytime I try to write a new freeboot to the 12625 I still get either e79 or just power light with no boot.

Okay I was mistaken on the last post as I forgot to set it to aud clamp dvd tray. When I right freeboot and I turn it on It boots up opens the disk tray and gives me xell. Im turning it on with the power button. Any ideas.

^ Well, Zephyrs tend to do that. Try using the No DVD option in Jtag Tool, it should fix this problem.

I have the same problem but i dont know how to fix it. I wrote xell got the CPU Key and then wrote Freeboot but the console has E79. The soldering points are good but i think it could be that i screwed up one of the diodes idk. Need some help.

post pics. that will be the first step. I'm in no position to help really as Im the amiture of the year but I know these guess will want pics!
Stay on topic, and don't help people who try to hi-jack others threads instead of making their own.

^ Both. With respect to your JTAG/SMC config, you'll always have to select OPEN_TRAY and AUD_CLAMP in Jtag Tool. Plus, only in case of Zephyrs, you should also select the "No DVD" option, so that the Xbox360 boots directly into Dashboard instead of the ejecting the DVD Tray and running XeLL.

gotcha. I will try in a moment. Im currently dumping my jasper 256 so it takes awhile.

By the way I think what got me back on track was uninstalling my norton 360 and reinstalling Jtag tool. As soon as I did this I started making progress.

Told you, Norton 360 was the actual problem...

Well I tried that option. Wrote the freeboot with it set to Audclamp with tray and set dvd to no and now when I turn it on via power button I get nothing just the power light. When I turn it on via eject button I do now get xell! If you want me to make a new post let me know too.

if you're getting XeLL, your SMC choice is fine as well as your wiring.

so - save the custom SMC you have for later use:

nandpro freeboot.bin: -r16 zephyr-smc.bin 0 1

download the Freeboot tool at bestpig.fr - I've never had an issue with this one. Select english once you've ran it and paste your CPU key.

You don't need to mess with any options - select build Freboot and choose your zephyr dump. It will create a file for you (which you can name before kicking this off) in the same folder as the dump file.

So, you have a zephyr built freeboot with a non-custom SMC. That zephyr-smc.bin you saved from earlier? Apply it:

nandpro new-freeboot.bin: -w16 zephyr-smc.bin 0

Flash this to your zephyr and let me know what happens.

I just sent off my orig nand to the guy I got my Jtag from. He is going to update it for me and send it back. If he cant get it to work then I dont know what else to do other than to just leave it on the 12611 dashboard which is fine with me.
