Just a quickie again late night for me . Heres the question.
Xenon motherboard 7371 dash correct cb used qsb for jtag .Used j runner . Installed xell no probs there. Got key again no probs in building latest dash . Installed new dash into nand . System booted fine nows the strange part . Left box unplugged for a couple of days just switched it on dashboard pops up . Switched off machine . Now when I switch it back on that lovely e79 pops up. Any links would be appreciated . I have a e79 error kit in my box but all search post indicated that this is for xenons that have trouble booting into xell . Once again I may have overlooked a post but I am so tired going round in circles in my brain here . If I am right in thinking do I de solder q.s.b and install e79 error kit in its place. P.S nand reads were fine did four not 2 in j runner compared all read ok

Check to make sure the jtag connections are making good contact with the board. Most of the time when consoles get the E-79 error after jtagging them has to do with it not making a good connection. However like the Zephyr is infamous for throwing random E-79 errors.

blakey thanks for jumping in here . Heres a strange one as you know there are two wires from board to board and we all know mosfets can be a pain so i used some electrical tape and taped the wires on the hard drive cover away from mosfets and caps. Switched board to 440 and at mo seems ok . So do you think it might be current from mosfet? affecting this . What I will do is put dvd drive back in close case up and report back tomorrow got to get some zzz's been up since 3.30 . P.S I do chuckle when you report to me as I am a bus driver might change my user name to butler lol

I was going to suggest creating freeboot with a lower dash such as 13599 or less and see if the console does the same or not.
