Hello,

I just jtag'd my falcon using nand-x w/ no problems. :D

I dumped the nand 3 times, installed xellous, got my cpu key (dvd key), and installed freeboot using Jtag Tool. - even installed xexmenu 1.1

My xbox worked great for about a day or two then I got the E79 error. I opened up my 360 and noted that the Db1f1 point/diode were disconnected. I re-soldered the point and it worked once again. I then hot glued the point to ensure the point would be secure.

It worked for another day then I got the E79 error.

I'm thinking of just using the alternate points using the tutorial provided here but I was wondering if anybody had any other suggestions?

Thanks for the help - this is my first jtag

Go with the alternate points (audio_clamp & open tray) as suggested.

Thank you...i'll try the alt points as suggested-after I remove the hot glue

Will I need to re-install freeboot or xellous after I use the alt points?

I'm thinking no.

Thanks again

You thought wrong . As you already got your CPU key you skip the xell/xellous part, you'll need to recompile freeboot with the correct SMC to use the alternate points. Latest version of Jtag Tool should do that for you easy.

No worries. I'll use some insulation tape
I recently started using heat-shrink tubing. Really nice actually, but wont make it 'stick' to the point. Only insolate it. A good joint shouldn't need any sort of glue, really

I didn't think glue was a good idea but that's what I get for taking the easy route. I may just leave it as is after the alt point have been installed.

Now i have to reconnect the nand-x and reinstall freeboot. :) Hopefully my jtag starts working again.

I soldered the alt points and I keep getting the E79 error.

I used Jtag to reflash freeboot.

I'm thinking I did it correctly.

I went to options clicked yes for Alternate SMC Points then went to create .bin then I wrote that bin to the drive.

Is there something I'm missing?

I noted that the yellow wire was a bit "squished" I replaced and now it works. I think that's all I had to do to begin with.

I guess i learned much more this way :)

Thanks for all the help I really appreciate it.
