the best way to backup YOUR xbox games is using dvd2xbox. You should also upgrade your hhd. Look where you got your x3 bios also if you havent already get a dash I like avalaunch. Check out xbox-scenes.com for the answers to your questions.

yea it works with 3029, if you get avalaunch go to settings then downloads, you can download it directly to your xbox.

ftp it to your xbox, and it wont trash your xbox. I use flashfxp with no problem, just enable dhcp and use x3 for password/username in x3cl.

thx will try that later, so i put all the avalaunch files on the E drive of the xbox, mine has c,d,e,x,y,z then will i be able to ftp all the dvd2xbox files onto the xbox and will that go in the same drive and is it best to put it in a folder (E/apps/dvd2xbox)?

thx

hi, i enabled dhcp on the xbox and the laptop could not see the xbox nor cld the ftp client. so i had to leave it disabled and it connected, i went to ftp the avalaunch files to c drive but it kept on failing, any ideas y or is it because dhcp is disabled in the x3?

hi, have read that but it does not help me, the laptop network card settings are 192.168.0.22 and sub = 255.255.255.0 the laptop connects into a hub and then to the xbox, if the xbox dhcp are off then the xbox gives a ip of 192.168.0.1 and i can connect to it and ftp download only (xbox to laptop) i can not upload the new dash to it. as i get a failed message

if i have the dhcp enabled then i cant connect with the ftp client and the screen for the xbox shows ip x.x.x.x, i have tried setting my laptop network to obtain settings auto but still no joy.

Try changing your Xbox IP to something else, like 192.168.0.50

What dash are you using? Are you able to change the IP address?

(Edit) Make sure DHCP is disabled - you are not connecting via a DHCP server or a router. You're better to use a fixed address on PC and Xbox.

Have you got a gateway address of 192.168.0.1 set somewhere, in your PC or Xbox?

Is there a dash currently running on your Xbox - I don't know muck about X3s.:(

If there is, you need to change the IP settings in your dashboard (in the dashboard's settings file). What dash are you using?

If not, you'll probably be able to do it in the X3 settings you just listed.

i dont know what dash it is. when i have the chip off it will boot into the normal ms dash, when the chip is on it says microsoft and at the bottom it says xecuter rox my box, and then it opens the above menu i listed above.

all i have done is, chipped the xbox with a x3 ce
flashed the bios with the latest 3029 from #xbins

Look in the settings when booted with the chip on. You may be able to change the IP address there. Like I said, I don't know much about X3s.
