Hello!

I need som help, hop sombody can help me.

Was reading my nand with xnandHealer. Was reading it four times. every time i get 253 error 3A4. When I go to nand info ther is no bad block but i get ECC error block 0x3A4.

What can I do with this? Can i make a
ecc image?
Wath is an ECC error? Do i have to try to read it again?

I got the same error when I was reading the nand with J-runner!!

Please, sombody can answer me if I its safe to make a ECC image?

Hey there,

I'm borrowing this from Martin.

Have you tried reading the NAND from Nandpro itself, with a NAND-X?

(Small block 16MB NAND) nandpro usb: -r16 nanddump.bin
(Big block NAND) nandpro usb: -r64 nanddum.bin

What kind of motherboard do you have? Is it a small block NAND?

As the other gentlemen have asked, pictures would be beneficial. :)

Also, read this. ;)

its ok, its just a bad block, no need to worry about it
you should get different results in compare in that block (unless you use jrunner ;) )

cfull1: I have red the nand with xnand. First with QSB and now with pinheads. I hav read the nand with tree different programs: (Jtag tool, j-runner and xnandhealer) Always get the same error. When i open it in 360 flash tools: It says: Bad block ID 0x3a4

XJonnyGunsX: No I have not tried to read the nand with nandpro. I havea Trinety mother board. I can take som pic. but I am using pinheads so had to solder it from back of the board. And they look good.

http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/member.php?u=164166stefanounick: So you think I can make an ECC and boot in to xell? But wath is the different between a bad block and an ECC error?

Many thanks for your responds!

Jtag tool and xnandhealer use the same program (nandpro) to read ;)

You can make an ecc just fine, that block doesnt affect it.

All blocks are have ecc (error correction code) at the end so they are checked for integrity,
so if the block doesnt match the ecc, its considered a bad block. Thats roughly the explanation for it

it isn't a wiring problem

HAHA, stefanounick,
I had a whole response, similar to what you posted. I refreshed just before posting and there it was.

Awesome! :D

Just like stefanounick said, you'll be fine with using J-Runner.

Plug in the NAND-X and get two NAND reads with J-runner. Continue to use the rest of the features built into J-Runner and you'll be set. *thumbs up*

Yeah, thats fine.

You only need to remap bad blocks if they are in the first 50 blocks(0-4F). Since your bad block is 3A4, it won't be touched with the writing of Xell.

Once you load xell, you can get your CPU Key. Then you can build an glitched image(updflash.bin) and put it onto a USB stick along with rawflash v4 (xenon.elf).
Raw Flash v4 will load from Xell and handle the bad block automatically.
