I was wondering how the eeprom thing works, like, does it load the eeprom.bin off of the chip when the X3 is enabled, and use the eeprom.bin off of the xbox when its disabled?
Any response is appriciated.

Thank you

The eeprom is on a chip on the xbox motherboard.
It has nothing to do with the X3, obviously, or the hard drive.

I say obviously that it has nothing to do with the X3 because the xbox had an eeprom long before the X3 was installed.

I know that duh! That is obvious, I'm saying like you can upload a eeprom.bin to the chip, so when the chip is turned on does the xbox use the eeprom off of the chip and then when the chip is off use the eeprom off the xbox's eeprom chip

you can upload a eeprom to the chip via ftp then wen you load config live you can find the option to "Load EEPROM from X3" or something like that. Then i think that will upload your crrent eeprom, but before you do that backup your current eeprom just incase.

o yea and you may have to unlock your hdd but i forget.

still confused about SS v2

so tell me if i'm wrong...wave 1 and 2 games with ss v1 and splitvid are safe on live with LT ?

wave 3 and up need to have ss v2 and splitvid to be save with lt?

final question...i have verified my bioshock 1 disk with abgx and its says wave 2 game and everything is good and its has splitvid and its ss v1...but on the abgx website , for bioshock there is 3 SS/DMI combination...one is SSv1 and 2 other are SSv2 like this :

SS Version SS CRC DMI CRC
2 9F80F76C AEECA61C
2 E141BC89 065F59C1
1 6D705E78 410E8838

my bioshock DMI and SS are the SSv1 but do i need to patch them to SS v2...this is the part that i don't understand...do i have to re-rip this game to patch it with one of the 2 SSv2 combination or since the CRC will not match my rip will this be detectable on live? (and yes i know bioshock is not playable live but i'm always connected on live)

so basicly...if my game is SSv1 and there is a SSv2 combination avaible on abgx...should i re-rip the game and patch with the SSv2 combination even if the dmi/ss does not match the "original" rip...thx!

Re: still confused about SS v2

My opinion after reading the LT readme is that they all have to be SSv2(I could be wrong, but hey I'm only going off of what the developers of the fw say). I'd patch ALL games to SSv2 just to be safe regardless of what wave it is.

That doesn't make sense that you would need to alter an older game by upgrading the SS version to match newer games. Unless the SS is the method they used and they(those nice enough verify rips) just improved that method to be better?

Edit: I looked it up, the SS v2 is a more accurate method. It says so right on the from dropdown on ABGX360

You are right it doesnt make sense.

From my understanding, if the original rip was ssv1, you SHOULD NOT change it to ssv2 if you are to play online..

This is just from reading other forums... i hope someone can chime in...

Exactly my thoughts, no need to create a new topic when a topic on the very same subject exists and has active participants!
