EEPROM version differences??

Hello all,

I have a 1.6B Box, I had gotten a new eeprom for a 1.6 but what I need to know is if a 1.6 and 1.6b are the same? Or do I need a specific 1.6b eeprom? Also is there some program that can ID a eeprom version?
