Ok, I remember this being posted here somewhere, but I seriously can't find it for the life of me, so I'm going to go ahead and throw the question out there.

Just installed X3. When I do a quick power tap, it turns on the XBOX with the mod chip disabled (logo on panel = red)

If I press the eject button, the X3 is activated (logo on panel = blue) and turns on fine. I then see the flash bios.

I'm assuming that I plugged in some cable backwards, but I don't want to risk just changing cables all over the place

Please let me know any suggestions you guys might have! Thx

I had the same problem. I had to even unhook the control panel to flash the x3 bios on it. Then i hooked the control panel back up. I still needed to push eject to get the mod enabled. but then i left it for about 2 hours. and for some reason it is working perfect now. not sure what caused it or fixed it. i would lvoe to know..

Thanks,
Dave

Hey,
I think i figured out my problem. I was holding down the power a little to long. press it really quick and it should work. I think i was holding it down for too long. Not sure why i couldnt flash it though, probably something with the dip swtitches.

I posted a while back on this, and most likeley it is the power/eject board, take the sticky stuff off, and check the solder points, that is like 90% of that roblem, and if worse comes to worse contact your vendor and they should send you a free one.

I am having the same problem on a v1.6x as described where sometimes tapping the power button will enable X3 and sometimes it won't. I've taken the same chip and power/reset board to a v1.0 xbox and it works everytime the way it suppose to. I believe this is an issue with the x3 and v1.6x boxes. Can anyone else verify?

Yeah, I think it's really sensitive to how long you hold the button down. If you hold it for 1ms it boots off the modchip, if you hold it for >1ms it will boot off the MS bios

After reading this post I tried to stab at the power switch and it worked. I really had to barely touch it or else it disables the chip. This is on a 1.6 box. On my 1.0 box it is less sensative and I was used to that. My advice is, before cracking the box again, try to tap the power button like shultz said..."for 1ms". T

Did you dump your firmware? if not then I think your only option is to buy a new xbox.

no sir, i forgot to dump the original firmware, but i wrote the key down. and i got the 360 to work now  . i used jungleflasher to open up iextreme LT firmware and type in the key and save it as BenCFW.bin and i used that to flash my drive using iprep.
but one question

what will happen if i dont have my original firmware saved just the key?

I think agbx only works up to wave 4 your best option is to get a spare xbox drive and flash the 0800 firmware to the drive then you do not need to worry about patching anything just rip and burn with imgburn.
