Hi there everyone, great forum you have here. I am hoping that you can lend a hand to a man in need. 
I tried the rubber band trick on my xbox 360 a while back and it worked like a charm I was very excited to see it boot my backups etc etc. Unfortunately, after a little while I started getting problems again (Open Tray, Unreadable Disk) that kind of thing. So i open it up and remove the rubber band. All of a sudden, none of my backups will play (not even the verbatims) and I have trouble playing other discs aswell. If I assume that the problem is related to the rubber band trick i am lead to the conclusion that it may be the motor that is not functioning correctly or.... I really dunno, I'm just out of ideas. I have the Toshiba-Samsung drive btw. Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.
