Summer is a couple months away and i was thinking of what my project would be. so i came up with the idea, make a MAME arcade in an xbox. so my idea is to remove my messed up DVD drive and make it external, then use that space to put in a SNES to usb and the frag box but, bring those conections onto the outside of the xbox somehow. i'm reasonably new to the modding scene i just have a softod but this sounds like a cool idea becuase i have tons of MAME Roms and SNES ROms and Genisis Roms but wanna use some old school controllers. i'm looking for suggestions, comments, and also if theres any dashboard that i can customize just to have the programs running or to open the prgram after i decide on the game. (so i could just have a simple menu with all my roms/games and have it open the apropiet program and just go straight to the game)

if i understand correctly, you want an xbox console of some sort just running emulators? if so, get evox, edit the ini file/ menu to only look for the emulators

Yah thats pretty much it i mean i will run other things thats why i chose an xecuter becuase that bios bank switch is really nice but thats pretty much what i was looking for.

I also have a ton of roms on the pc but for some reason the MAMEOX doesn't play them? Do I need new Roms or a better emulator?

The idea of the SNES controller to USB mod might not work for you, as I'm not sure there are emulators with the proper drivers to make that work (though I could be wrong).

As for Mame, none of the roms work? Or just a few? Because the XBox isn't powerful enough for some, but there's no reason that say, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles wouldnt work. It might be a problem with config or something then.

I think there are some adaptors to make old school controllers work in regular xbox ports. That way you wouldn't have to worry about drivers.
