Hello there,

Thank you to the team for the update !!

I have few question about the two way of settings up EmuNAND on micro sd.
What are the pros and cons of each way ? Does one of them require less space than the other?

Thanks in advance !

I see: To recap, you now have three way of settings up EmuNAND now:
 • EmuNAND on system NAND: repurpose part of your Switch internal storage for EmuNAND
 • EmuNAND on microSD as partition: repartitions your microSD card with a separate EmuNAND partition
 • EmuNAND on microSD as files: EmuNAND is stored on microSD as files instead of repartitioning
WARNING: Setting up your EmuNAND as partition on your microSD card will format your microSD card. After setup nothing but the boot.dat and license.dat will remain.

That's great, but which one is advised. Is one faster, does one help for corruptions or whatever? Should the EmuNAND be on a lower FW or does it not matter etc. I have mine on Micro SD, but not fussed about it to be honest. The only reason I even created one is because I thought it would help with issues further down the line with updates from Big N.
I'm banned and don't care about hiding from them.

Apologies to the mods and other members for newbie questions, I couldn’t find the thread to ask at, anyway, does anything actually get installed onto the switch hardware or is it all on the sd card? I already have an as card for my game saves and ordered a new one for my sx pro, If I switch sd cards and use the one without the sx pro files on it will it boot up normal to do online stuff, I get that I can still be banned either way, just not sure if it’s good or bad to use two different sd cards without issue

I'm interested. Is the SD partition system faster than the emunand files, isn't it?

I am not banned and I will prevent it at all costs (excluding the freedom of XS OS of course)

Will this format the sdcard with a partition using exfat or fat32?

this new partition is hidden, you can't access it after it is created (although i really haven't checked if it's fat32 or exfat)
When I formatted mine, I had a 128gb exfat partition.
Now I have a 32gb hidden partition for the emunand and a 96gb exfat partition. SXOS did everything by itself.

@Game_Over, do you know if it'll be possible to access the emunand part?
There were some people mentioning that the big advantage, would be to have the emunand partition on fat32, so you could have homebrew/retroarch files in it without risk of corrupting your files and exfat for the bigger xci/nsp files.

Hi @Game_Over, if I create a emunand from my microSD card, the OFW will keep untouched, isn't it?
Between the 2 different emunand on the microsd, which one is better (to keep system clean) and faster?

Thanks!
